Texturizing
Transforming filaments, enhancing performance.Texturizing is a process applied primarily to synthetic yarns that permanently modifies the structure of the filaments within the yarn, fundamentally changing its appearance, handle, and behaviour in use. The result is a yarn that is softer, more voluminous, and more elastic than the base filament - better suited to the comfort and aesthetic requirements of modern textiles.
At Fitexar, we apply friction texturizing – a false twist process in which the yarn is heated and then passed through closely spaced rollers that permanently deform the filaments and lock in the new structure. The deformed yarn can be taken as is (False Twist) or set in a second oven to fix the twist definitively (Fixed False Twist), each option delivering a distinct combination of bulk, softness, and elasticity. Texturizing is a key step in preparing yarns for applications where comfort, stretch, and tactile quality are priorities: sportswear, medical compression, and premium apparel.

Air-Covering
Speed and versatility in one process.Air-covering is a fast, efficient method of wrapping a covering yarn around a core using a high-pressure air jet rather than mechanical spindles. The covering and core yarns are interlaced at frequent, regular intervals under controlled air pressure - producing a yarn with good coverage at significantly higher production speeds than conventional mechanical covering methods.
This technology is well-suited to applications requiring a cost-effective covered yarn for general use: hosiery, everyday apparel, and lighter sportswear. The process offers a practical balance between production efficiency and end-use performance, and at Fitexar we apply it across a range of core and covering material combinations – always selecting the approach that best fits the technical and commercial requirements of each project.

Single Covering
One layer of precision protection.Single covering is a conventional process in which a covering yarn is wound helically around a core - either elastic (such as elastane) or rigid - in a single, controlled layer. The core yarn passes through a hollow spindle around which the covering yarn rotates, winding itself uniformly around the core at a precisely defined number of turns per metre.
This process gives excellent core encapsulation and a clean, even surface finish. It is the standard choice for elastane-core yarns used in medical compression garments, technical fabrics, and apparel applications requiring consistent stretch and recovery. At Fitexar, single covering is applied across a wide range of core and covering materials, with precise control over winding angle, turns per metre, and yarn tension – all of which directly influence the performance of the finished fabric.

Double Covering
Maximum protection, exceptional finish.Double covering takes the single covering process a step further: a second covering yarn is wound over the first, typically in the opposite direction. This produces a yarn where the core is fully enclosed by two interlocking layers of covering material, resulting in superior core protection, greater dimensional stability, and a more uniform surface appearance.
The two opposing covering layers counteract each other’s rotational tendency (torque balance), which gives the finished yarn significantly better stability and makes it easier to process on downstream knitting or weaving machinery. Double-covered yarns are the preferred choice for demanding applications: high-compression medical garments, high-performance sportswear, technical textiles, and any application where the core must be completely concealed in the finished fabric.

Dyeing
The right colour, every time.Colour is one of the most critical quality attributes in any textile product. Fitexar offers dyeing across a wide range of yarn types and colour specifications, ensuring that every shade meets the exact requirements and can be reproduced consistently across production runs and material lots.
Dyeing is available for both raw and processed yarns, with colour accuracy, wash and light fastness, and bobbin-to-bobbin consistency all subject to strict quality verification. Fitexar also offers Space Dye – a process in which different sections of the yarn receive different colours, producing multicolour effects that unfold naturally during weaving or knitting into unique, non-repeating patterns in the finished fabric.

Twisting
Engineered strength, refined character.Twisting is one of the most fundamental yarn transformation processes, applicable across a wide range of materials and end uses. It involves rotating a yarn on its own axis to introduce twist, which modifies both the physical properties and the visual character of the yarn. A higher twist level increases tensile strength, reduces elongation, and imparts a distinctive texture and surface sheen.
At Fitexar, twisting is carried out on double-twist (DT) equipment across the full range of yarn counts and materials. The double-twist principle allows the yarn to make two rotations per spindle revolution, making the process highly efficient while maintaining the precision needed for consistent results. Twisting is applied to yarns destined for both technical and aesthetic purposes: high-twist yarns for technical fabrics requiring maximum strength and dimensional stability, and crepe-effect yarns for premium apparel where the twist contributes directly to the drape and character of the finished fabric.
